Quick Status Update + Badge Quest Kickstarter is Live!
10 months ago – Tue, Jul 25, 2023 at 12:48:43 PM

Hey folks!

I've spent the last couple of weeks reformating the original book and cleaning it up. I should have it posted pretty soon on Backerkit, and then it's off to the printers. Hopefully, the rest of the stuff should hit before the end of the month or shortly after I get back from GenCon.

Badge Quest is on Kickstarter

If you all didn't already know, during the OGL crisis, I started up a game system called Badge Quest. It's basically "girl scouts meet Scooby Doo." We just launched the Kickstarter and funded the campaign within 90 minutes.

Be sure to check it out!

Content Headed to the Printers by the End of the Month
11 months ago – Mon, Jul 03, 2023 at 02:19:38 PM

Hey all!

Happy early 4th of July (for those who celebrate). Just giving you all an update that the book and the additional content will be heading to the printers by the end of this month, which will still put us on our timeline. The OGL crisis and a few family issues put me slightly behind, but having 90% of the stuff done already has made it far less stressful. Additionally, I met some new printers while I was in Reno this year at a conference, so we might be trying them on for stuff since they're saying they can turn things around a little faster.

Either way, thanks for your patience and continued excitement. I look forward to having all of this over to you soon.

How do y'all feel about getting the books sooner?
12 months ago – Fri, May 26, 2023 at 10:11:03 AM

Hey all!

Just wanted to give you a quick update. Since the vast majority of folks have ordered physical copies of the actual book, I think I'm going to start the process of getting those printed now so we can have them in time for the conventions and our store in August. That way, if there's an issue with the boxes, cards, or the other accessories, it won't hold up the whole process (book printing tends to be much simpler than doing custom accessories, etc., in my opinion).

Then, once we have the boxes done, we'll be able to get those out to the folks who got them, along with the other accessories. We were going to have the main books separate from the boxes anyway, as it's easier to sort at our fulfillment centers.

This isn't necessarily set in stone yet, so if it doesn't sound groovy, let me know. But I figured most of you would like to have the finalized book in your hands at least soon.

Let me know what you think!

Just a quick update
about 1 year ago – Wed, May 03, 2023 at 06:51:06 AM

Hey folks!

Just a quick update for everyone. The rest of the boxed set's contents are going pretty smoothly, and I hope to have it all wrapped up by the end of this month before I head to BGG.Spring in Dallas. And yes, I do plan to add links to the PDFs ;)

Also, we're getting picked up by several distributors for this, so you can probably expect to see these in stores shortly after you receive your copy. Here's the current trajectory for release:

  • Digital Files Complete - End of May
  • Factory Proofs Complete - End of June
  • Mass Production - End of June - July
  • Import - August
  • Fulfillment - September

If you're having trouble getting your digital files, message me here, and I'll take a look. 9 times out of 10, it's usually a pretty easy fix.

Anyways, thanks all for your continued support.

DMDave's Ultimate Guide to Writing Adventures for Fifth Edition is out (pre-proofing version).
about 1 year ago – Mon, Apr 17, 2023 at 06:17:50 AM

Hey all!

I finally finished up my Ultimate Guide to Writing Adventures for Fifth Edition. This is the pre-proofing version. It's missing the foreword (from our friend Tom Cartos) as well as the proofing run from John Webb, our proofer. However, it should have enough goods to get you started.

Hope you enjoy the book. I had a lot of fun writing it. I didn't quite hit 96 pages (I felt I would have been blowing hot air if I tried to squeeze out another 32 pages), but I think it's a nice, tight 64.

Thanks all for your continued support!

 - DMDave

PS If your order isn't locked in and paid for on backerkit, you *won't* be able to get a copy of this book or any of the digital files. Please make sure you're locked in. Thanks!
